St Gabriel’s undefeated run continued today when they thrashed St Christopher Primary 4-0 in the BICO-sponsored National Sports Council’s Primary Schools Football Competition at Briar Hall, Christ Church, today.

St Gabriel’s entered the game as favourites and played true to expectations. In the first half midfielder Alex Dent sent in a corner which floated in the far post and found midfielder Jody Greene who was in the perfection position to head the ball into the back of the nets.

St Gabriel’s would soon add another when Dent once again sent in a cross to the right of the field to right wing Kaitlin Padmore who blasted a right-footed shot past St Christopher’s goalkeeper Kion DaSilva into the nets.

It was a few minutes before half-time when striker Bryan Lashley scored from just outside the 18-yard box to take St Gabriel’s into the break with a commanding 3-0 lead.

St Christopher Primary clearly did not learn anything from the first half as they allowed St Gabriel’s strikers to get free behind their defensive cover on several occasions. Unsurprisingly, it wasn’t long before the boys in blue and white scored another goal. St Gabriel’s striker Asher JnPierre dribbled his way past two of St Christopher defenders in the box as though they were statues and scored.

St Angela’s and St Winifred’s were also engaged in another exciting match-up at Briar Hall.

St Angela’s, playing in red, almost scored a goal early in the first half but the ball was just tipped out by St Angela’s goalkeeper, Keegan-Noah Moses.

There were several goal scoring opportunities for St Angela’s but they failed to capitalize and the first half ended 0-0.

When the second half resumed it was St Winifred’s who upped the pressure and went on the offensive constantly harrying St Angela’s defenders. St Angela’s strike pair Aren Spencer and Jalen Johnson had other ideas though.  Johnson crossed the ball from the right side to Spencer who volleyed a left foot shot into the back of the nets to give St Angela’s the 1-0 result.

The game between St Bartholomew’s Primary and Wills Primary ended 0-0 while also at Briar Hall Milton Lynch defeated Vauxhall 3-0.

St Bartholomew’s goalkeeper Rick-Kobe Lewis held on to a good save with Wills Primary striker Zion Mayers charging in.
