Pinelands trounced by BDFSP

Barbados Defence Force Sports Programme (BDFSP) trounced Solaris Pinelands 6-0 and Silver Sands also suffered a beating when they went down 4-0 to the University of the West Indies (UWI) Blackbird last night at the Wildey, St Michael AstroTurf.

With action picking up in the 2015 Digicel-sponsored Barbados Football Association’s Premier League, the scramble is on for the top spot that currently belongs to Rendezvous who are on 32 points. Last night’s victory has now put the BDFSP on 29 points. Weymouth Wales who were right behind Rendezvous continue to drift down the ladder in fourth place on 27 points and tied with UWI who are also on 27.

In the first game played last night Rashad Jules opened the scoring in the 16th minute for BDFSP, then Raheim Sargeant delivered in the 25th followed by captain Romario Harewood who netted his first of two goals in the 40th minute and the other in the 81st. Kyle Gibson produced two goals in the 70th and 83rd minutes.

Meanwhile in the second encounter UWI striker Dario Harewood had a good game and netted the first two goals for his team in the 44th and 60th minutes. The other two goals were added by Shamari Mark in the 72nd and Amal Mayers in the 83rd minute.
