Reigning BICO-sponsored National Sports Council’s Primary Schools Football champions Grantley Prescod Primary are all about business again this year and their 7-0 victory over Holy Innocents Primary at Shorey Village, St Thomas in zone three spoke volumes today.
Kelon Carrington got a hat-trick for the winners and gave Holy Innocents’ defence plenty of headaches the entire game. He was ably assisted by speedy Kamal Bryan who got a brace of goals. Raheim Brathwaite and Adrian Brathwaite with a goal each completed the rout.
Also playing in the same zone St Bernard’s defeated Chalky Mount Primary 3-0 while St Joseph Primary also recorded a 3-0 win when they played neighbours St Elizabeth Primary.
In zone four action played at Blenheim, St Michael St Cyprian’s Boys triumphed 4-1 over People’s Cathedral. George Lamming Primary defeated St Ambrose 4-1 while St Giles and Charles F. Broome played to a 1-1 draw. The game between St Paul’s and Belmont Primary finished in a 0-0 draw.
Westbury Primary continued to have a good run in zone six and today they defeated Alfalah 4-1 at Passage Road. Trinity Academy, which seem to have a much better team this year, defeated Lawrence T. Gay Primary 1-0 when the two teams met at the Lumber Company ground. Also at Lumber Company Wesley Hall Primary who are also in zone four won 4-0 when they played Eden Lodge Primary. Deacons Primary and St Mary’s Primary played to a 0-0 draw.
At Chapel, in zone eight, Blackman and Gollop Primary dished out a 5-1 drubbing on St Mark’s Primary. St Martins Mangrove won 3-0 over Gordon Walters and St Luke’s Brighton went down to Hilda Skeene 1-0.
