University of the West Indies Blackbirds and reigning Digicel Premier League champions Barbados Defence Force Sports Programme (BDFSP) both recorded wins last night at the Wildey, St Michael Astro Turf as the Barbados Football Association’s Premier League Tournament continued.
In the featured game of the night UWI won 2-0 over Direct TV Paradise while in the first encounter of the night Silver Sands were trounced 6-0 by the BDFSP.

UWI goal-scorer Mario Harte (center) comes under pressure from Paradise’s defenders.
UWI went up 1-0 in the first half via a penalty when midfielder Jomo Harris was brought down inside the box and striker Mario Harte scored in the 36th minute past Paradise goalkeeper Jason Boxill.
When the second half resumed UWI added another in the 69th minute compliments Akeem Maloney who scored a left footer from inside the 18-yard box with the ball hitting the upright and going into the back of the nets.
In the first game BDFSP had a good run against Silver Sands seven minutes into the first half of the game when Rashad Jules shook the nets with a thunderous shot. He came back in the 57th minute to score once again

The BDFSP captain Romario Harewood got into the fun scoring a hat trick with goals in the 37th, 48th and 80th minutes. Kyle Gibson added goal number six in the 85th minute to end the game on a high for the soldiers.
